Q. What is Studio Boum?
A: Studio Boum is a cozy and cool Event Research Boutique located in Fremont. We provide consultations, personalized vendor referrals, and wedding/event planning resources for our members. Welcome to a place where members can sip champagne, relax, view portfolios of vendors, browse music options at the media station (Boum Box), brainstorm with friends & fellow members and plan the event of a lifetime in a stress free environment!
Q. Are you a wedding/event planner?
A: Studio Boum is not a typical full-service event planner, but we do offer services to help you in the planning process. We sit down with our members for an in-depth personal consultation where we discuss all the details of the event, style you envision, etc. and then we provide a short list of vendor referrals (Boum Sheet) that fit within your budget and preferences for the event. We also check with the vendors ahead of time to make sure they are available on your date. Just think of us as your in-the-know event-obsessed best friend.
Q. How does Studio Boum’s services differ from that of a full-service event planner?
A: Studio Boum does not plan your entire event. Instead we are here for personal consultations, vendor referrals, and to provide our members with various event planning resources so they can plan their own event of a lifetime.
Q. Will you be there the day of my wedding/event to coordinate the details?
A: Currently Studio Boum does not provide day-of coordination services but we have some fabulous event planners and day-of coordinators that have partnered with us that we can refer you to.
Q. There is plenty of wedding/event resources on the web; why should I use Studio Boum?
A: Yes there are many great websites out there that list event resources including vendors. However, these websites do not save you time in narrowing down the multitude of options, and they do not provide personalized recommendations on which vendors to choose based on your specific needs. Studio Boum also provides a physical space where you can come and relax with a friend or consult with us while doing your planning. We put the much needed personal aspect back into this often stressful experience.
Q. Are you a venue space?
A: No we are not an event venue - see the next question.
Q. Can I rent out your space for my event?
A: That depends. Studio Boum is not an event venue, however, we are located in a very cool live/work loft space in Fremont that can make a great place to host a gathering or small event. We do consider rental of the space for smaller groups and only during non-business hours on a case-by-case basis. To talk with us about using the space please email info@studioboum.com.
Q. Do you have 1 year or 18 month memberships or do you only offer 6 month memberships?
A: We are more than happy to extend the length of membership given your specific needs. Please contact us to inquire about extended membership pricing.
Q. Who can become members of Studio Boum?
A: Studio Boum is great for anyone planning an event of any kind! Especially those feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of vendor options and are looking for some guidance.
Q. I would like to come in this weekend with a few of my girlfriends but the membership contract states “you and a friend,” can I bring more than one person in with me?
Although membership is for you and a guest, we are open to welcoming additional guests for brainstorming or planning sessions with you in the studio. We do ask however that you limit your guests to 1 during your initial consultation and when attending any of our events. If you would like to bring additional guests to an event they are welcome to attend, but must pay the non-member fee associated with that event.
Q. Who can attend your open-houses and seminars?
Anyone interested in an event is welcome to attend. All of our events are free to members and their guest (limit 1), while nonmembers pay a small fee depending on the type of event. Please refer to the specific event for pricing information or contact us with any questions.
